WHEREAS, the students of Missouri University of Science and Technology recognize a presence of academic dishonesty on the campus, and;
WHEREAS, the students have the responsibility to understand the full meaning and repercussions of academic dishonesty, including plagiarism, and the benefits pertaining to academic integrity, and;
WHEREAS, it is the faculty’s responsibility to outline the definition of what constitutes academic dishonesty in their classroom and repercussions pertaining thereto, and;
WHEREAS, it is the administration’s responsibility to hold the faculty accountable for the class syllabus outline of academic dishonesty and the repercussions, and;
WHEREAS, it is the administration’s responsibility to maintain and make known an adequate appeals process regarding academic dishonesty;
BE IT RESOLVED that a discussion concerning what defines academic dishonesty, the repercussions, and appeals process among the students, faculty, and administration needs to be in order.
