Student Activity Finance Board (SAFB)

Mission Statement

The Missouri University of Science & Technology Student Activity Finance Board is dedicated to aiding both student body and independent organizations with financial guidance and monetary assistance. Each semester the Student Activity Finance Board drafts and proposes its recommendations for financial distribution to Missouri S&T's Student Council body, unbiased from any favoritism.

Purpose of SAFB

The Student Activity Finance Board is responsible for student fees by determining which organizations receive funding, and how much is appropriated. Although the Student Council makes the final decision of fee distribution, determining the financial need and stability of funded organizations is required. It is the responsibility of the Student Activity Finance Board to make this determination, as well as provide financial guidance and assistance to funded organizations, ensure fees are used appropriately, and recommend student activity financial distributions each semester. SAFB meets throughout the semester to discuss financial requirements of needy organizations, recommendations for distributed funding, possible changes in process structure, and to monitor organizational spending.
